Nothinq is in public beta. If anything here is unclear, write to us and we'll make it clearer.
In short
- Nothinq has no database of your chats, files or projects. They live in your browser and your own Puter account.
- The only things we keep on our side are your waitlist place (Puter username, email, date) if you join it, and short-lived counters per IP address that stop abuse.
- Your messages pass through our servers on their way to Puter and the model you pick. We don't store them.
- Our cookies are only the ones needed for Nothinq to work, so there's no cookie banner. No ads, no trackers.
Signing in
You sign in with your Puter account, the platform Nothinq runs on. Puter gives Nothinq a token that lets it make AI requests and save files on your behalf, paid from your own Puter balance. That token is stored only in an encrypted, http-only cookie in your browser. We don't keep it in a database and never show it to page scripts.
Your chats, files and settings
- Conversations, Work projects, your Library and settings are saved in your browser on this device, not on our servers.
- With sync on (Settings → Data), a copy is also kept in your own Puter storage, written straight from your browser, so it follows you to other devices. Turn sync off to keep everything on this device only.
- Clearing your browser data, or using “Log out and clear this device”, deletes them. Settings → Data lets you export a copy.
- Files you attach, media you generate and sites you publish are saved in your own Puter Drive, in Nothinq's app folder (AppData). Links to them are unlisted; delete the files in Puter, or delete your account (below), to remove them.
Publishing and building apps
- A site or app you publish from Work mode is hosted in your own Puter storage at a puter.site link. Anyone with the link can open it, so don't publish anything private.
- To publish or open a React app, your browser builds it itself: it downloads the build tool (esbuild) from jsDelivr and the app's npm packages from esm.sh. Those services see which packages are requested, not your code.
- Next.js and server apps are published as a public sandbox on CodeSandbox, under CodeSandbox's terms.
- A Work project is copied to GitHub only if you say yes (Nothinq asks after its first build, or you choose it in Settings). It then keeps the same folder in your private nothinq-library repo up to date, including removing files you delete. Stop that any time in the project's Settings tab; what's already there stays yours.
Deleting your account
- Settings → Account → Delete account removes everything Nothinq keeps for you: your chats, Work projects, Library and settings on that device; Nothinq's folder in your Puter storage (attachments, generated media, published sites and the synced copy); your sites' links; Nothinq's saved keys, including your Composio sign-in; and your waitlist place. Another device that's still signed in keeps its own copy until you sign out there and clear it.
- Your Puter account is Puter's: only Puter can close it, on its own site, where it asks for your password. Nothinq points you there once your data is gone. Closing it deletes everything Puter holds for you.
- Apps you connected and anything you saved to them (Google Drive, GitHub, Notion…) belong to you and are left as they are. Disconnect them in Settings → Connectors or at Composio if you want to.
Who sees your requests
- If you connect apps (Gmail, Drive, GitHub…), you do it through your own Composio account: Composio holds those sign-ins and runs the actions you ask for. Nothinq keeps your Composio sign-in encrypted in your own Puter storage. Sign out or disconnect any app in Settings → Connectors, and manage everything at Composio.
- Pages and apps Nothinq builds for you can use your connected apps only after you allow it, and ask again before every change.
- When you save something to Google Drive, GitHub or Notion, it goes straight to your own account (a Nothinq folder in Drive, a private nothinq-library repo on GitHub). Nothinq keeps no copy.
- Your messages and attachments go to Puter and to the provider of the model you pick, so they can generate a reply.
- Web searches are run by an OpenAI model on Puter, which reads the pages it finds.
What we log
Our servers keep short-lived, in-memory counters per IP address and session to prevent abuse (rate limits), and standard hosting logs from our provider. When something breaks, an error report goes to our error tracker (Sentry): what failed and where in the code, never your messages, files, cookies, the page's query or your IP address. We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and gets only the page's address (never its query), your browser and rough location, not who you are. If you join the waitlist on the Company page, we keep your Puter username, the email Puter shares with us and when you joined, only to tell you when it opens; leaving the list deletes them. We don't sell data, run ads, or use your chats to train models.
Paying for a plan
- Paid plans (Basic, Plus, Pro and Founding member) are sold through Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle handles your card, billing address, taxes, receipts and refunds; Nothinq never sees your card details.
- We keep a sealed receipt of your purchase (which plan, and Paddle's ids for the payment and subscription) in your own Puter storage, so your plan follows your account. It names your Puter account, so it can't be copied to anyone else's.
- Paid plans pay for Nothinq itself. AI usage stays on your Puter account, with no markup from us.
Cookies and storage
Nothinq uses a few cookies, all needed for it to work, and none for ads or tracking:
- nq_puter: your sign-in (encrypted, http-only, about 30 days, renewed while you use Nothinq). It's also how this address knows to open the app for you.
- nq_in: set and cleared with your sign-in, holding only “1”, so the homepage can tell you're signed in without reading your sign-in itself.
- nq_plan and nq_checkout: your plan and an open checkout, sealed, only while paid plans are on.
- In your browser's own storage, Nothinq keeps your chats, projects and settings (see above), plus a note that this browser was signed in, so it can open the app straight away next time.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, get a copy, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw consent you gave (leaving the waitlist, turning sync off, disconnecting an app). Most of this you can do yourself in Settings; for the rest, email us and we'll answer within 30 days. These are the rights that data protection laws such as the GDPR (Europe), the UK GDPR and California's CCPA give you, and we extend them to everyone.
- Why we handle your data: to provide the service you signed up for (your account, chats, builds), and our legitimate interest in keeping it secure and working (rate limits, error reports, page counts). We ask first for anything else.
- Who processes it for us: Vercel (hosting and page counts), Upstash (rate limits and the waitlist), Sentry (error reports), Puter (your account, AI and storage), Composio (connected apps) and Paddle (payments). Some of them work from the United States and other countries; they handle data under their own data protection terms.
- We don't sell or share personal information for advertising, and we don't make automated decisions about you that have legal effects.
- If you think we got something wrong, tell us first; you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Nothinq isn't for children under 13. Even without storing your chats, it handles a little personal data (your sign-in, your IP address for rate limits), and laws such as the US COPPA need a parent's verified consent for that below 13. Puter and the AI providers it uses set age limits of their own too. If you're under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), use it only with a parent's or guardian's permission. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we'll delete it.
